Backend Engineer (m/f/d) - Recommendation
ABOUT YOU SE & Co. KG is looking for a Backend Engineer (m/f/d) to join their team in Hamburg or Berlin. You will be responsible for developing next-generation recommendations using Node.js with TypeScript, efficiently managing large data sets with Google BigQuery, and building and improving high-traffic APIs. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers, product managers, data scientists, and analysts to enhance existing functionalities and introduce new features.
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable APIs using Node.js, Python, or Go
- Efficiently manage large data sets using SQL or NoSQL databases
- Write well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code with a focus on quality
- Explore new technologies and methods, particularly in the areas of machine learning and generative AI
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in building scalable APIs
- Practical and current experience with a typed programming language (e.g., TypeScript)
- Solid knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in working in an English-speaking and agile environment
- Committed to continuously improving the quality of the software you work on
- Eager to take on end-to-end responsibility for our Recommendation Engine
