As a Cloud Engineer (m/f/d), you take ownership of our AWS platform and continuously evolve it as the backbone of our fintech infrastructure. Your goal is to provide a secure, automated, observable, and cost-efficient foundation that enables engineering teams to ship reliably and independently.
This role comes with real architectural influence. You will shape AWS networking standards, define Kubernetes best practices, improve infrastructure modularization, and drive operational excellence across teams. We value strong technical judgment, pragmatic decision-making, and a long-term mindset.
Responsibilities
- Operate and harden Debian and Ubuntu systems in high-availability environments
- Design and evolve VPC setups, connectivity, routing strategies, and security boundaries
- Build and operate EKS clusters as a standardized platform layer
- Design and maintain reusable Terraform modules and Ansible roles
- Work closely with development teams to improve GitLab pipelines and deployment patterns
- Strengthen monitoring, alerting, and observability standards
- Increase cost transparency and actively optimize cloud spend
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience operating and improving AWS environments in production
- Proven experience with Terraform and Ansible in real-world, structured environments
- Experience with building, upgrading, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters on EKS
- Solid understanding of VPC architecture, VPNs, DNS, routing, and cloud security concepts
- Strong Bash and/or Python skills to automate and simplify operational tasks
- Experience with monitoring and observability tooling
