The Rheinmetall Aviation Services GmbH (RAS) is ready to enter a new market and is taking on new challenges in the aviation sector! We are starting with the production of center fuselages for the world's most modern and powerful combat aircraft, the F-35.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance, further development, and administration of Linux servers with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Ensuring a stable and performant system landscape
- Planning and implementation of system updates, patches, and security measures
- Support and optimization of PostgreSQL databases in production and development environments
- Monitoring of system and database performance as well as fault analysis and troubleshooting
- Support in the automation of system processes and implementation of scripts to increase efficiency
- Collaboration with internal departments such as development, IT security, and DevOps to ensure smooth processes
- Participation in the further development of backup, recovery, and monitoring solutions
- Support in internal and external audits
Requirements
- Successful degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in the administration of Linux systems, ideally with Red Hat (RHEL)
- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL databases and SQL
- Experience with SELinux, cryptographic algorithms, and the File Access Policy Daemon
- Good knowledge of IT security, network protocols, and system monitoring
- Knowledge of the operation and configuration of Keycloak
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Extensive knowledge of key exchange, ciper suites, SSL/TLS certificates, and OpenSSL
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Python) is an advantage
- Experience with container and virtualization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage
- Knowledge of DevOps/DevSecOps environments is desirable
