Responsibilities
- Gather and understand customer requirements and translate them into clear user and functional specifications
- Lead the definition of technical specifications and ensure high-quality implementation
- Design and implement robust, customer-specific software solutions using Python and the Genedata Expressionist API
- Ensure software quality through unit, regression, and release testing, as well as code reviews
- Act as a role model within the team by demonstrating strong ownership, quality focus, and collaboration, while actively sharing knowledge and expertise
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in bioinformatics, computer science, analytical chemistry, physics or a related scientific field
- At least 3 years of professional experience in scientific software development, preferably in a team-based environment
- Strong Python expertise with a deep understanding of core libraries such as pandas, numpy, and matplotlib
- Hands-on experience integrating AI/LLM-based developer tools into daily Python development, including verification via unit/regression tests and code reviews
- Proven ability to analyze complex problems and develop robust, scalable software solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
