About Us
We are pioneering the future of satellite intelligence and defense. Backed by Rheinmetall's proven defense expertise and ICEYE's radar satellite innovation, our joint venture has the ambition of delivering one of the world's largest earth observation satellite constellations to defend Germany.
The Mission of the Sr. AIT Engineer
As an AIT Engineer you will enable the reliable integration, verification, and delivery of satellites from design to orbit-ready readiness. You serve as a senior technical contributor ensuring spacecraft are assembled, integrated, and tested to the highest standards. Success means owning outcomes, staying deeply hands-on, and ensuring every satellite meets mission and schedule objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead satellite assembly, integration, and test (AIT) activities across missions
- Guide system-level verification and validation, including functional, environmental, and EMC testing
- Coordinate troubleshooting with design, manufacturing, and test teams to maintain schedule and quality
- Provide hands-on support during assembly, harness routing, alignment, and test execution
- Maintain and improve AIT procedures, integration plans, and configuration records
- Drive improvements in integration efficiency, test robustness, and build reliability
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in the integration, testing, or production of complex hardware systems (e.g., satellites, aerospace)
- Deep technical expertise in at least one discipline (e.g. avionics, mechanical integration, electrical systems, or RF)
- Strong system-level mindset, able to understand how subsystems interact, anticipate integration challenges, and maintain end-to-end traceability
- Familiarity with test and verification processes, environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, EMC), and configuration management
Benefits
- The opportunity to help shape a national sovereign space capability
- A role that directly impacts Europe's security and defense architecture
- Competitive compensation with strong development and learning opportunities
- A supportive, diverse, and mission-oriented environment
- Relocation assistance
- An annual professional development budget and access to training, conferences, and certification programs
- Modern offices with areas for collaboration and focused work
