Revi is looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable backend services that power the core applications. The engineer will own API development, distributed systems, and database design while collaborating closely with Product and Frontend teams.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices in Python using Django and FastAPI
• Optimize performance across distributed systems and relational databases (MySQL and PostgreSQL)
• Lead backend architecture for critical roadmap initiatives, including AI-assisted tooling, payments, and reporting
• Ensure reliability, maintainability, and observability across backend systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to deliver features end-to-end
• Champion AI-driven coding practices, using tools for code generation, test automation, and faster prototyping
• Drive CI/CD best practices, test coverage, and deployment quality across environments
• Guide infrastructure evolution on AWS (ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Mentor junior engineers, review code, and help set strong technical standards

What We Expect You'll Bring

• 4–6 years of backend engineering experience, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment
• Deep expertise in Python with strong knowledge of Django
• Hands-on experience building APIs, event-driven systems, and services at scale
• Proficiency in SQL database design, and query optimization
• Strong working knowledge of AWS services (compute, storage, monitoring)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code
• Comfort using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT) as development companions
• Strong product sense and ability to navigate ambiguity with pragmatism
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative, team-first mindset

Bonus Points For

• Experience with payment systems (Stripe) and other third-party integrations (e.g., Kitchen Hub, Otter, 7Shifts)
• Familiarity with observability stacks like Datadog, Sentry, or Prometheus/Grafana
• Contributions to open-source projects or experience mentoring junior engineers
• DevOps experience with AWS and cloud-native systems
