Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and improve automated testing frameworks across functional, performance, API, and accessibility testing (Playwright, K6)
Contribute to test automation strategy by improving coverage, reliability, and feedback speed in CI/CD pipelines
Review automation code written in TypeScript and JavaScript, sharing best practices and constructive feedback
Apply AI-optimised testing approaches such as visual testing, AI-assisted test generation, defect prediction, and Playwright MCP usage
Design and implement continuous testing practices, including test planning, execution, reporting, and defect analysis
Contribute to discussions on testing architecture, tooling, and quality practices
Support and mentor less experienced engineers through pairing, reviews, and knowledge sharing
Collaborate with DevOps, Platform, Security, and Product teams to embed quality into delivery workflows
Use observability tooling such as Datadog and automation metrics to identify early signs of platform instability
Requirements
Proven experience as a senior test automation engineer in a product-driven engineering environment
Strong hands-on expertise building and maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright
Experience with performance testing, including K6, and analysing performance results
Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, Agile practices, and CI/CD pipelines
Comfortable reviewing automation code and contributing to shared testing standards
Exposure to AI-powered development or testing tools, including modern IDEs and MCP servers
Working knowledge of Docker or containerised environments
Experience using Datadog or similar observability and troubleshooting tools
Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Strong Git and source-control practices
Collaborative mindset, comfortable working across engineering and product teams
Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to improving quality
