Responsibilities
- Own and evolve our AWS OpenSearch infrastructure that powers ImmoScout24's core search experience
- Design and deliver innovative search features that solve real user problems in the real estate domain
- Architect scalable backend solutions using Java/SpringBoot
- Drive technical innovation in search and AI, bringing your expertise to explore and implement cutting-edge capabilities
- Mentor and elevate the team's technical capabilities through code reviews, discussions, and collaboration
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve search system reliability and performance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
- Minimum 4-5 years of professional software development experience
- At least 2 years of working with AWS ElasticSearch/OpenSearch
- Proficiency in Java and Kotlin with hands-on experience in applying modern best practices
- Prior experience in creating and managing AWS resources and familiarity with Infrastructure as code concept
- Business focus, coupled with the ability to critically question and challenge product managers and UX designers
- A deep passion for machine learning and search systems with a proven record of successful product delivery
- Extensive experience in designing, building, testing, debugging, and optimizing code for large-scale distributed systems
