Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT forms the invisible back half of Amazon that magically turns your click of a button into packages at your door. We build and operate the software, hardware, and processes that run the global network of Fulfillment centers (i.e., Amazon warehouses), which move billions of units of inventory and ensures customers get what they want when promised.
Responsibilities
- Design and build highly scaled and efficient solutions using the latest AWS technologies and infrastructure
- Own and maintain some of the most business critical systems for Amazon that support hundreds of thousands of associates and millions of customer orders per day
- Work with partner teams to understand problems, ensure solutions solve those problems and iterate once solutions are live
- Use data to deep dive, analyze, interpret and fine tune solutions
- Contribute to all aspects of the software development cycle, including scoping, design, development, testing & delivery
- Optimize solutions by consuming large amounts of data and inputs, processing and visualizing the data, and making optimization decisions
- Collaborate as a team to design and build solutions using a variety of languages and technologies
- Modernize existing and legacy systems and upgrade their capabilities
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
