About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer / IT Consultant to join our team and contribute to the development of scalable, high-performance software solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex backend systems that add real value for our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, product owners, and other developers, ensuring seamless integration and adherence to best practices. Your expertise will help shape our microservices architecture, optimize performance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end scalable solutions that deliver tangible benefits to our clients, focusing on microservices and modern software architecture.
- Create and maintain high-performing backend services using Java or Kotlin, utilizing Spring Boot for complex application development, and ensuring reliable integration with databases and external APIs.
- Maintain high standards of software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and adherence to clean code principles.
- Provide expert consultation to clients on architecture, technology choices, and implementation strategies, translating technical details into understandable language.
- Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, product owners, and other development teams to ensure cohesive project execution within agile frameworks.
- Conduct code reviews, deliver constructive feedback, and promote the adoption of best practices, architecture guidelines, and quality standards across teams.
Requirements
- Degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience as a Backend Developer, particularly with Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, Vue, or React
- Familiarity with Apache Kafka
- Strong understanding of microservice architecture, data modeling, and database management with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases
- Excellent communication skills in German and proficiency in English
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for code quality
- Experience working within agile teams
