The Opportunity
In this role, you will develop robust backend systems and architect scalable data pipelines and storage solutions to support Agoda's Fintech operations. Your expertise in backend and data engineering will be crucial in optimizing financial technology solutions and driving informed business decisions through reliable data insights.
Responsibilities
- Think and own the full life cycle of Fintech products
- Design, develop and maintain platforms and data pipelines across Fintech
- Build highly scalable and performant systems to meet the dynamic demands of the financial landscape
- Write great code and mentor others
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive product and technology goals
- Play a key role in recruiting and onboarding exceptional talent
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience developing high-performance applications in production settings
- Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#
- Insightful experience with big data technologies and advanced SQL/data architecture knowledge
- Passionate about software craftsmanship and continuously improving your skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies
Nice to Have
- Experience in a modern FinTech or Payments organization
- Domain knowledge in areas like financial reconciliation, reporting, tax, or payout methods
- Hands-on experience with technologies like Spark, ETLs, and queueing systems
- Core engineering infrastructure tools like GitLab and Kubernetes
- Experience in leading projects and owning large-scale distributed systems
