50Hertz is one of the four transmission grid operators in Germany, responsible for high-voltage power transmission. As part of a European grid association, 50Hertz works closely with colleagues throughout Europe to ensure a secure electricity supply.
Responsibilities
- Provide grid planning support for customer connections of power electronics systems throughout the entire project lifecycle
- Independently conduct grid integration studies in the frequency domain and EMT simulations
- Identify future system requirements and develop technological plant concepts focused on grid-friendly behavior
- Represent 50Hertz in national and international committees and research projects
- Initiate, conceptualize and coordinate studies and special projects with national and international partners
- Maintain, further develop and validate the model and tool landscape, including manufacturer model testing and EMT system analyses
Requirements
- Completed studies in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of electrical power systems
- Solid knowledge in the theory and simulation of electrical grids and power electronics systems, particularly in EMT and/or RMS analyses
- Proficient programming skills, e.g. in Python
- Confident handling of MS Office suite and the ability to present complex technical issues in a structured and comprehensible manner
- Fluent in German and English, with at least one of the two languages at C1 level
