Responsibilities
- Lead the network architecture for the IONOS public cloud environment, ensuring alignment with overall Hosting infrastructure strategy
- Collaborate with Product Owners, DevOps, SDN developers, cross-platform, and network engineering teams to define technical and product solutions, ensuring proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with architectural standards
- Provide technical input into product and technology roadmaps, anticipating future business and technical needs
- Research, evaluate, design, and deploy emerging networking technologies (SDN, virtual networking, automation, security frameworks)
- Engage with stakeholders and enterprise customers, translating high level business needs into detailed technical tasks
- Design high-level and low-level network architectures (HLD/LLD) and maintain rigorous architectural documentation
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in network architecture and design, including public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Deep understanding of DC fabric architectures and implementation of the network services and VNFs on top of them
- Strong expertise in SDN, NFV, routing, switching, firewalling, and hybrid networking
- Proven experience leading complex network projects as both architect and technical leader
- Design of secure, scalable, and resilient networks across public cloud environments
- Solid experience with virtualized environments and their components (KVM, Open vSwitch, Linux bridges)
- Familiarity with automation and DevOps practices for networking (Netbox, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD)
- Strong background in Linux systems, including Python, NFtables, IPtables, Git
- Documentation and architecture skills (HLD, LLD, diagrams)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for diverse stakeholders
- High degree of resilience and adaptability, with the ability to remain effective and deliver results in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
